There’s a great mystique around the whole area of table calculations with LODs having stole a lot of their limelight. They range from very simple to incredibly difficult to get your head around.

I’m still at the beginning of my discovery, but I wanted to share a tip about how some of the basic concepts started to find purchase on my neurons.

I simply created the table below from the Superstore dataset, added SUM(Sales) to the table and used the drop-down on the pill to create a percent of total table calculation.

Then select the drop-down on the pill again and select Edit Table Calculation. Then just try the different option and watch where you see 100%:
